BUHLER USD 313 is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach for the 26-27 school year. The supplemental position runs from December through March and involves leading athletes, organizing practices, and ensuring safety and compliance with district and state rules.

Qualifications

• Rule 10 Certification or Teacher Certification is required.
• Playing experience at college or high school level is preferred.
• Coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
• Expertise in rules, strategies and techniques of the sport.
• Strong organizational skills for practices and events.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Follows all district, athletic director and KSHSAA rules.
• Organizes and conducts daily practices.
• Attends and schedules coaches meetings.
• Attends all games and oversees performance.
• Ensures safety of student athletes during activities.
• Keeps track of athletes' academic progress.
• Responsible for facilities and equipment safety.
• Creates team rules, expectations and procedures.
• Manages uniforms and equipment inventory.
• Coordinates transportation with athletic director.
• Coordinates facility use with athletic director.
• Schedules competition dates with the athletic director.
• Maintains documentation for physicals and medical cards.
• Communicates with administration, parents, media and athletes.
• Maintains relationships with booster/parent clubs.
• Keeps league/state/district statistics up to date.
• Maintains professional appearance at practices and games.
• Provides leadership for student athletes and assistants.
• Maintains an emergency action plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the athletic program.
