Job summary

The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking a Head Women's Lacrosse Coach to lead its lacrosse program, overseeing coaching, recruitment, and team operations to support student athletes’ athletic, academic, and personal development.

The temporary 10-month appointment runs July 1 through April 30 with a salary of $3,500 for the full appointment, and requires flexibility for practices, games, travel, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience coaching women's lacrosse.
• Ability to recruit, organize, instruct, and supervise student athletes.
• Ability to create a positive and educational athletic experience.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise team practices and games.
• Coach and instruct student athletes in lacrosse skills, strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Recruit prospective student athletes for the program.
• Promote a positive team environment that supports student athlete growth and development.
• Monitor student athletes' academic progress and support their success through weekly in-season study halls and referral to appropriate student resources.
• Submit team rosters and other required information to the Athletic Director for eligibility review.
• Assist with collecting required student athlete documentation.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding schedules, travel, contests, fundraising, and budget matters.
• Transport student athletes to and from games as needed.
• Report scores, statistics, injuries, and other required information accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate publicity efforts with the Athletics office.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and University and departmental policies.
