Job summary

Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH is seeking a Head Coach - Volleyball to lead our collegiate program. The coach will recruit student-athletes, plan practices, develop game strategy, monitor academics, manage travel, and ensure compliance with NJCAA rules.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Athletics Director and requiring strong leadership and community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to program growth, mentor players, and uphold the college’s athletic standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area.
• One year of coaching experience at the high school or higher level.
• Graduate study or internship counted toward experience.
• Knowledge of NJCAA and Region 12 regulations is a plus.
• Ability to recruit and monitor academic progress.

Responsibilities

• Recruit quality prospective student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
• Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NJCAA and Region 12 regulations.
• Coach team members individually and in groups, and oversee skill development or positions.
• Coordinate recruiting and team travel planning with the Athletic Director.
• Promote the program through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.
• Monitor academic progress and ensure compliance with all rules by athletes and staff.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and budget administration.
