Job description

Working with the support of the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for developing all players in the program on and off the court through a championship caliber environment, an open door for competition and development of skills, character, and leadership at all levels.

The spring season starts on February 23, 2026 and runs through May 8, 2026. Practices are scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 3:30pm-6:30pm. This is a stipend-paid position that reports to the Director of Athletics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all the responsibilities or tasks; other duties may be assigned when deemed appropriate:

  • Coaches’ individual participants in mechanics, film study and skills necessary to compete at the highest level possible.
  • Communicate with other coaches outside the ISL to schedule in-season games as needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise a regular schedule of practice.
  • Encourage sportsmanship, team unity, and enforce all sportsmanship guidelines.
  • Enforce discipline of contests, school, league and state rules and regulations.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and enhance their professional development.
  • Attend the required coaches’ meetings and conference pre- and post-season meetings.
  • Provide and display a willingness to work with the Athletics Department, administration, staff, student- athletes, and parents.
  • Support athletes in the college selection and recruiting process.

Below are the qualifications for this position:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, and community. Experience coaching/participating in softball at the high school or collegiate level. Knowledge of applicable league rules.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
