Duval County Public Schools administers all aspects of sports within the District and individual schools' Athletic Department policies, aligning with FHSAA and NFHS guidelines.

Essential duties include enforcing health/safety rules, coordinating exams/clearances, supervising teams, and ensuring compliance with Title IX and district policies while striving to enhance the educational impact of athletics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as athletic coach preferred.
• Completion of athletic coaching courses including First Aid, CPR, NFHS concussion courses, AED training, and DOE Athletic Coaching certificate.

Responsabilités

• Announce and enforce conditioning and health/safety rules for players.
• Attend required FHSAA rules clinics and Gateway Conference meetings.
• Coordinate physical examinations and athlete clearances; ensure forms are signed.
• Conduct and supervise fundraising activities for the sport.
• Supervise team operations including locker rooms and pickup after practices and games.
• Enforce Title IX, FHSAA, and DCPS policies.
• Monitor weekly academic progress of team members.
• Plan practices and games with clear duties for coaching staff.
• Report injuries to athletic trainer/medical program and manage return-to-play process.
• Support ongoing improvement of the athletic program and overall school education goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
