Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Head Varsity Coach to lead the high school athletic program. You will plan, organize, and manage all levels of coaching staff and ensure compliance with IHSA rules, while prioritizing student-athlete health and academic eligibility.

You will collaborate with the Athletic Director to schedule practices, games, and allocate budget, while engaging with parents and the community to sustain a strong program.

Qualifications

• Proper certification in athletic education or valid teaching certificate.
• Pass IHSA required tests and view IHSA videos.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all levels of the program and coaching staff.
• Develop game schedules, practice schedules, and program budget with the Athletic Director.
• Ensure student-athlete health, safety, and academic eligibility.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and facilities in good order.
• Communicate with parents, media, and community partners.
