Job summary

The Camas High School cheer program is seeking a dedicated head unified cheer coach for the Winter Season 2026-27. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, motivate athletes of varying ages, and implement coaching plans that emphasize safety and performance.

You will develop training, conduct practices, and collaborate with staff to sustain a comprehensive athletic program while promoting sportsmanship and team unity within the campus community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience coaching cheer.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate athletes of all ages.
• First Aid/CPR card required or obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of the team.
• Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all athletes receive appropriate instruction and feedback.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
• Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills.
• Manage behavior effectively during practices and competitions, employing behavior management techniques as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and other stakeholders regarding progress and expectations.
• Organize competitions and events, ensuring all logistical aspects are handled efficiently.
• Stay current with trends in sports coaching, physical education, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to create a comprehensive athletic program.
