Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport the candidate will coach.
• Recent coaching experience with K-12 athletes preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR card, or ability to obtain before start date.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse students and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a vision for the program and promote character development.
• Recruit student athletes for the school.
• Conduct practices focusing on technique and mechanics.
• Attend and supervise games and implement game strategy.
• Attend annual Coaches’ Institute training in August.
• Demonstrate sportsmanship with athletes, parents and the school community.
• Organize, supervise, and evaluate practice sessions.
• Know and follow WIAA, league and district rules and policies.
• Complete district and WIAA trainings on sport rules and safety.
• Maintain uniforms and equipment inventory.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and community.
• Work as part of a team under the Head Coach/ Athletic Director.
• Model professional conduct and respect at all times.
