Summary

Provides above standard customer service. Accurately and efficiently completes customer transactions. Responsible for following and adhering to all bank operational and security policies and procedures including compliance and privacy policies and procedures to maintain customer confidentiality.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring each teller submits work to proof in a neat and orderly manner, and that the tellers’ daily balance sheet is properly prepared.
  2. Ensuring each teller balances every day; providing assistance to locate differences; and ensuring that all differences are properly initialed and, if required, reported to the manager and/or auditor immediately.
  3. Maintaining the appearance of the teller area to be neat, organized, and in accordance with bank policy.
  4. Securing all negotiable and confidential records in the teller area daily.
  5. Overseeing proper dual control.
  6. Conducting regular unannounced audits of the vault and teller cash, maintaining records, and reporting exceptions immediately.
  7. Accepting deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts, cashing checks, and processing transactions like credit card payments, issuing money orders, accepting loan payments, and processing night deposits.
  8. Admitting customers to safe deposit boxes, answering inquiries, providing balances, and balancing transactions daily.
  9. Maintaining reports and logs for record retention.
  10. Continuing to build proficiency through training and education.
Minimum qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service and cash handling experience
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well in small groups
Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous banking experience
Position details:

This is a full-time position with scheduled hours around branch hours, including some early arrivals and late departures. Hours may vary by branch. Occasional travel may be requested.

Language skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s); bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to interpret business information and present effectively to groups.
