Job Title: Head Teller

SUMMARY

The Head Teller position is a sales and service role focused on building member relationships in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities include managing the teller line, branch cash, balancing, and ATM management. The role involves processing teller transactions, new accounts, and loan applications, with an emphasis on meeting sales goals and demonstrating product knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Balance daily teller, vault, and ATM transactions.
2. Achieve individual sales and contribute to team goals; provide sales coaching when needed.
3. Promote the Credit Union within the branch and assist in developing external business opportunities.
4. Maintain a positive, friendly attitude.
5. Have strong knowledge of Credit Union products, policies, and procedures; proficient in teller transactions and member services.
6. Act as a loan interviewer; handle consumer and real estate loans as needed.
7. Use discretion and judgment in resolving member and personnel issues.
8. Participate in community events and promote the Credit Union externally.
9. Identify sales opportunities and conduct outbound calls.
10. Track cross-sales of Teller and MSR services weekly/monthly.
11. Train staff on computer transactions and sales techniques.
12. Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, and member maintenance with approval.
13. Maintain vault cash, order supplies, and oversee ATM and coin machine maintenance.
14. Audit traveler’s checks and money orders monthly; perform daily remittances and other audits.
15. Manage security system knowledge, and handle opening/closing procedures.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 2+ years in financial or retail sales experience.
• 1-2 years of teller or retail experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong team and independent work skills, with excellent customer service abilities.
• Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
