Job summary

YMCA of Superior California seeks a Head Teacher to assist in managing a Preschool/School Age site and lead staff in daily activities. The role includes program content management, staff development, and community relations, with a 30-hour work week across roughly 6-hour shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma with college credits, two years of relevant experience, and CPR/First Aid certifications. Evening or weekend meetings may be required seasonally.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with 2 years of college.
• 12 units of college credits in related fields accepted by licensing.
• TB Clearance and fingerprint/child abuse index clearance required.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and Community CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Act as supervisor of program and site personnel when the Preschool/School Age Supervisor is absent.
• Daily open/close of center in collaboration with Site Director.
• Complete administrative responsibilities as assigned by Site Director.
• Maintain accurate attendance and child records per YMCA policy.
• Ensure licensing standards are met at all times.
• Plan and implement Preschool/Afterschool activities daily.
• Interact with parents to support a positive YMCA image.
