Job summary

Hargrave Military Academy seeks an energetic Elite Head Swimming Coach & Program Director to build one of the premier boarding school swimming programs in the country. You will lead all aspects of the Hargrave swimming program while mentoring young men in a college preparatory military environment centered on academics, leadership, character, and athletic excellence.

Qualifications

• Head or assistant swimming coach experience.
• Experience recruiting student-athletes.
• Experience developing athletes for collegiate swimming.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Mentoring young men both in and out of the pool.
• Knowledge of USA Swimming and high school swimming competition.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a highly competitive swimming program.
• Develop and implement a year-round recruiting plan to attract talented student-athletes from across the country and internationally.
• Coach and develop swimmers to reach their highest athletic and academic potential.
• Plan and conduct daily practices that challenge athletes of varying ability levels.
• Prepare athletes for success at the collegiate level.
• Develop a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture.
• Schedule competitions and coordinate team travel.
• Work collaboratively with Admissions to recruit and enroll prospective cadet-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, athletic trainers, and school leadership.
• Supervise and mentor assistant and developmental coaches.
• Manage the program budget, equipment, and uniforms.
• Represent Hargrave Military Academy with professionalism and integrity on and off campus.
• Support the Academy's mission of developing leaders of character.
