Job summary

Life Time Naperville is seeking an Aquatics Head Swim Team Coach to lead our swim program in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art facility. You will write season plans, run group workouts, and train other coaches while overseeing participant registrations and facility cleanliness.

The role requires ASCA/USA Swimming membership, 2 years of coaching experience, and Lifeguard/CPR certifications. Compensation is hourly, with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of swim coaching experience with ASCA/USA Swimming membership.
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping and lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Create safe, educational experiences for all participants.
• Write season plans and workout templates for each season.
• Train Swim Team Coaches and oversee participant registrations.
• Maintain a clean, organized pool area and answer member questions.
• Promote and sell Aquatics programs and services.
• Coordinate with Aquatics Department Head, USA Swimming, Coaches and Parents.
• Participate in weekly 1 on 1 meetings with the Aquatics Manager.
• Enter swimmers into the swim meet program.

Job description

Position Summary

As the Aquatics Head Swim Team Coach, you must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will help our Swim Team members improve their swimming in our state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoors and out. You will write and run Swim Team Group Workouts according to the season plan. You will train the Swim Team Coaches on their team. This position oversees the registering of new participants for the Team and maintains the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates an educational and safe experience for all participants
• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with participants
• Responds to member questions regarding Life Time's programs, policies and procedures
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services
• Acts as the liaison between the Aquatics Department Head, USA Swimming, Swim Coaches and Parents
• Participates in weekly 1 on 1 meetings with the Aquatics Manager
• Writes the season plan and workout templates for each season
• Enters the swimmers into the swim meet program

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

• 2 years of swim coaching experience
• Member of ASCA and USA Swimming
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification
• Complete LTU Safety Training before first shift
• Lifeguard certification to StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Complete all LTU courses within first 60 days of hire
• Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire
• Must complete all job specific requirements with Life Time Education

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Swim lesson instruction experience
• 1 year of customer service experienceASCA Level 2 Certification or higher

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $17.75 and pays up to $24.00, based on experience and qualifications.
