Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools seeks a Head Swimming Coach for Stone Bridge High School. The position runs in the winter season (November–February) with responsibilities for coaching, scheduling, and program development.

The role requires leadership to direct varsity team training, supervise assistant coaches, and coordinate with the athletic director to ensure eligibility, safety, and equipment readiness across all levels.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at high school or college level.
• CPR and First Aid training completed or in progress.
• Experience as a teacher or classified LCPS employee preferred.
• Virginia teaching license candidacy or equivalent classified role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for student athletes.
• Assist athletic director/principal in hiring/retention of assistant coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Work with athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes.
• Collaborate with head coaches to operate a balanced athletic program.
• Foster sportsmanship, pride in self, team, school, and community.
• Direct training, conditioning, and performance of varsity team; lead assistants.
• Be a positive influence on behavior of athletic staff and teams.
• Be present at varsity contests and supervise athletes at junior varsity/freshman contests.
• Advise on schedules, officiating evaluations, equipment needs, and facility condition.
• Collaborate to ensure eligibility lists are maintained under VHSL rules.
• Organize recruitment of support staff (managers, scorekeepers, statisticians).
• Maintain records, statistics, and photographs for programs.
• Recommend varsity or JV letters or coaching candidates.
• Observe sub varsity practices and games.
• Perform other duties as requested by high school principal/athletic director.
