Job summary

Bucks IU is seeking a Head Start Teacher for the Lower Bucks Early Learning Center. The role involves planning and supervising classroom activities, coordinating home visits and parent conferences, and supporting school readiness across literacy, math, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, complying with Head Start standards, and collaborating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 500 clock hours of experience teaching preschool-age children in an early childhood setting.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree with 500 clock hours of experience teaching preschool-age children in an early childhood setting.
• Bachelor's degree with admission to Teach For America and related professional development.
• Enrollment in an ECE degree program with ability to obtain the degree within a reasonable timeframe and waiver requirements.
• Hold state licensure or certification to teach preschool with at least 500 clock hours of experience.
• ECE coursework totaling 15 semester credits (associate) or 30 semester credits (bachelor) focused on young children.
• Provide transcripts and demonstrate courses relate to early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and supervise all classroom activities.
• Make social service referrals and involve parents in the program.
• Collaborate with Head Start team to support program goals.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Maintain records and assist with classroom supply ordering and inventory.

Education

Associate degree in Early Childhood Education

Bachelor's or advanced degree with 500 clock hours in early childhood education

Bachelor's degree with Teach For America program participation

Enrollment in an associate or bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education
