Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development is highly preferred or AS Degree in related field.
• Two years or more experience working with preschool children.
• Must meet state standards for Day Care Centers Serving Preschool Children and Head Start outcomes.
• Ability to follow pacing guides and create developmentally appropriate lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Promotes social and emotional development by maintaining classroom discipline with positive guidance.
• Develops and implements developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans and schedules.
• Maintains a safe and healthy classroom; implements active supervision and safety curricula.
• Communicates student counts and follows transitions effectively.
• Supervises and trains classroom staff and volunteers with constructive feedback.
• Implements a classroom management plan ensuring smooth operation and proactive behavior support.
• Supports children’s emotional development with a warm, culturally sensitive environment.
• Observes, assesses, and plans activities to promote physical and intellectual growth.
• Completes home visits, collaborates with Family Engagement Specialists, and communicates with parents and community partners.
