Job summary

Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) Head Start in Republic, MO is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant to support classroom operations, creating a warm learning environment and helping children reach their potential in collaboration with teachers and families. This part-time, full-year position runs Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Some college credit hours or Preschool CDA is preferred.
• Experience working with preschool children is expected.
• Willingness to pursue Early Childhood Development specialization certification.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and daily routines.
• Assist with classroom management and lesson implementation.
• Provide responsive care and supervision to preschool children.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff and families to support student success.
• Maintain a positive, safe, developmentally appropriate classroom.
• Assist with program standards and classroom procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Six college credit hours or Preschool CDA

Experience with preschool children

Willingness to obtain ECD Specialization Certification

Ability to work independently & as part of a team

Early childhood degree
