Job summary

White Earth Nation seeks a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support the lead teacher in preschool activities, promoting social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth for entry into primary school. Location Pine Point; pay $21.44/hr; full-time with full benefits.

You will assist with lesson delivery, prepare materials, transport children on Head Start bus, complete paperwork, and adhere to reporting standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a CDA credential.
• Enrolled in a program for an Associates or Baccalaureate degree.
• Enrolled in a Child Development credential program within two years.
• Valid MN CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver's license and insurance for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with lessons and activities to meet children's needs.
• Prepare lessons and materials and teach according to guidelines.
• Drive and inspect the Head Start bus to transport children and families safely.
• Complete paperwork and reporting per department guidelines.
• Support reporting standards regarding child abuse or neglect as mandated.
