Job summary

Acelero Learning South Carolina is seeking a Head Start Teacher to guide preschool children (ages 3–5) toward school readiness in a nurturing, inclusive classroom in Wagener. You will work with an Assistant Teacher, families, and a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s academic, social, and emotional development.

You’ll implement developmentally appropriate instruction, monitor progress, and tailor learning experiences while engaging families as partners.

Qualifications

Your Role:

As a Head Start Teacher, you will nurture responsive teacher-child relationships through the CLASS framework, cultivate a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment, and deliver age-appropriate, standards-aligned instruction. You will monitor developmental progress through ongoing assessments, tailor learning experiences to support the needs of all children, and actively engage families as collaborative partners in their child’s growth. You’ll also participate in continuous professional development and contribute to a team culture focused on reflection, learning, and improvement.

• Engage Families as Partners: Build strong, respectful relationships with families to support their child’s learning and development both at school and at home.
• Invest in Professional Growth: Actively participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflective practices, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You Bring:

• Passion for Early Learning: A deep commitment to working with young children and supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth in an inclusive, nurturing environment.
• Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
• Educational Background: A degree in Early Childhood Education – or a degree in another field with at least six (6) completed courses in Early Childhood Education.
• Classroom Experience: Hands-on experience teaching preschool-aged children, with the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse developmental needs.
• Collaborative Spirit: A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to work closely with co-teachers, family members, and support staff to drive positive outcomes.
