The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing leadership in the classroom and implementing a developmentally appropriate educational program that meets the individual needs of each child and aligns with Illinois Early Learning Standards. A key role of the Teacher is to create a positive learning environment where Head Start children develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for future school success. Our culture emphasizes a supportive and welcoming environment that fosters safety for staff, families, and children.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to fulfill all DCFS requirements, including a physical and criminal background check.
• Must have an AA or BS in Early Childhood Education.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Demonstrated exemplary attendance and dependability.
• Ability to practice civility at all times.

Job Details:

• Status: Full-Time, Year-Round, 51 Weeks
• Classification: Nonexempt
• Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., M-F
• Starting Hourly Wage:
• $19.00 - $20.00 (CDA)
• $20.00 - $21.00 (AA)
• $25.00 - $26.00 (BA)
• $26.91 - $27.91 (MS)
• Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
