The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing leadership in the classroom and carrying out a developmentally appropriate educational program to meet the individual needs of each child and Illinois Early Learning Standards. An important role of the Teacher is to provide leadership for our students and by creating a positive learning environment where Head Start children gain the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that lead to future school success. Our culture requires our teaching staff to ensure a supportive and welcoming environment every day and fosters a sense of safety for staff, families, and children.
