Job summary

Keystone Human Services is seeking Substitutes for Capital Area Head Start to support classroom staff, ensure child safety, and assist with daily lesson plans for children ages 3-5 in Dauphin and Cumberland counties. The role is casual/per diem, non-exempt, with hours typically between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Word, Outlook, and web-based systems.

Substitutes support classroom staff in the delivery of quality educational programming, ensuring the safety of children ages 3-5, and assisting with the implementation of daily lesson plans and activities.

Position Details:

• $15.68 per hour
• Casual/Per Diem, Non Exempt position
• Schedule: Hours between 7:30AM and 4:30PM based on center
• Positions available in Dauphin and Cumberland counties

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and learn web based systems
• Ability to travel to home visits, training, and other locations
• Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, Child Abuse and FBI clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preschool CDA or Associate’s degree in early childhood education
• Experience working with young children
• Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start
• Bi/multi-lingual
