Job summary

Capital Area Head Start is seeking substitutes to join our team, supporting classroom staff in delivering quality educational programming and ensuring the safety of children ages 3-5. The role assists with daily lesson plans and activities.

Position is casual/per diem, non-exempt, with hours 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, based in centers across Dauphin and Cumberland counties. Minimums include a high school diploma and ability to travel for visits and trainings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Outlook are expected.
  • Ability to travel to home visits, training and other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Substitutes support classroom staff in the delivery of quality educational programming.
  • Ensure the safety of children ages 3-5.
  • Assist with daily lesson plans and activities.

Substitutes support classroom staff in the delivery of quality educational programming, ensuring the safety of children ages 3-5, andassistingwith the implementation of daily lesson plans and activities.

Position Details:
  • $15.68 per hour

  • Casual/Per Diem,Non Exemptposition

  • Schedule: Hours between 7:30AM and 4:30PM based on center

  • Positions available in Dauphin and Cumberland counties

MinimumRequirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and learnweb basedsystems

  • Ability to travel to home visits, training, and other locations

  • Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, Child Abuse and FBI clearances

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preschool CDA orAssociate’s degree in early childhood education

  • Experience working with young children

  • Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start

  • Bi/multi-lingual
