The ideal candidate has a degree in early childhood education and one year of preschool experience, with ability to meet licensing and insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Special Education.
• One year of experience in a preschool environment.
• Ability to pass all state childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to be insured by University's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Maintain children’s files, admission forms, and annual licensing checks.
• Deliver instruction following lesson plans and adapt to individual learning styles; support social-emotional development.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and volunteers while maintaining confidentiality and coordinating health issues with the nurse.
• Collaborate with staff to implement curriculum and maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment.
• Supervise the Food Program in the classroom and assist with meals and cleanup.
• Conduct family home visits and travel within the service area; comply with Head Start standards.
