Job summary

Theuniversityunion is hiring a Lead Teacher for our Waukee Head Start classroom. This 36-hour-per-week, school-year position requires a BA in early childhood or related field and at least two years of experience with birth to 5 ages. Leadership experience and strong communication with families and staff are essential.

Qualifications

• BA degree in early childhood education or related field; min two years experience with children birth to 5.
• Must pass all child care licensing requirements.
• Excellent communication with parents, children and staff.

Responsibilities

• Document and monitor children’s progress and adapt curriculum accordingly.
• Lead classroom activities following lesson plans and support individual learning styles.
• Supervise teacher assistants and maintain a safe, organized learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and staff; conduct conferences as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards and licensing requirements.
