Job summary

Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency seeks a Head Start Teacher in Dickson, TN to lead a Head Start classroom and foster high-quality early learning. You will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, assess children's progress, and engage families to support learning at home and in the community.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field, with a Tennessee Pre-K teaching license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Valid Tennessee Teaching License with a Pre-K endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Head Start classroom to ensure smooth operation and service delivery.
• Assess each child’s developmental level and support individualized learning.
• Develop and implement lesson plans with diverse materials and activities.
• Engage parents through training, volunteering, and involvement.
• Maintain communication with parents via home visits, conferences, calls, and newsletters.
• Recruit children for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards and licensing requirements.
