Job summary

Brightpoint’s El Hogar del Niño in Chicago seeks a Lead Teacher for 0-3 year olds to implement Head Start standards and provide individualized learning for children in a supportive team setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or related field with 24 ECE hours, Gateways Level 5 credentials, and at least two years of experience with children or families. Full-time role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Illinois Gateways Level 5 Credential for ECE.
• Illinois Gateways Infant Toddler Level 5 Credential.
• Minimum of two years of experience with children and/or families.

Responsibilities

• Develops individualized learning addressing social, emotional, developmental, and cognitive needs.
• Maintains knowledge of Head Start standards, ISBE, and NAEYC requirements.
• Implements curriculum reflecting cultural influences and parental involvement.
• Conducts developmental screenings and uses results for planning.
• Enters assessment data into the management system.
• Identifies children who may require additional assistance and refers as needed.
• Completes weekly observations and coordinates with staff.
• Mentors and trains Teachers and volunteers in classroom techniques.
• Supports performance reviews and development of staff.
• Leads parent engagement activities linking home and classroom learning.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Early Childhood Education Level 5 Credential

Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Infant Toddler Level 5 Credential
