Job summary

Spokane Colleges Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start seeks a Head Start Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 to lead preschool classrooms, implement curriculum, and support families. Under general supervision, you will ensure compliance with performance standards and state laws.

Responsibilities include creating safe learning environments, collaborating with families, planning CIP goals, coordinating staff, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with coursework in early childhood education.
• Knowledge of ECE theory, child development, primary caregiving, observation, assessment and planning.
• Ability to obtain 30 hours STARS basic training or provide exemption.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Partner with families to support child development goals and CIP plans.
• Implement curriculum responsive to children’s needs and conduct ongoing assessment.
• Plan and evaluate activities; coordinate classroom workflow and supervise aides/volunteers.
• Promote health and manage routines, attend home visits and parent conferences.
• Collaborate with team to provide integrated services and community outreach.
