Job summary

Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. (MVCAA) invites applications for the EHS Infant Assistant Teacher position in Utica.

This full-time role, within the Child Development Department, supports classroom operations, implements the Creative Curriculum, and ensures a safe, nurturing environment for children birth to 5. Collaboration with families and staff is essential to promote school readiness outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires current Infant/Toddler CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood.
• Ability to travel to all sites, trainings and home visits as necessary.
• Able to communicate with children and families and maintain accurate records.
• Background check, fingerprint screen and annual physical exam and TB.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with classroom team to implement curriculum and achieve child outcomes.
• Assist Teacher with development and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Assist with developmental and behavioral screenings within 45 days of enrollment.
• Assist with IEPs integration and tracking progress across points in the year.
• Support positive behavior and meals as a curriculum activity; model healthy nutrition.
