Job summary

Minnesota Valley Action Council in Le Center, MN is seeking a Head Start Home‑Based Educator to deliver Head Start services through a home‑based model. You will conduct weekly home visits, engage families, and support school readiness under Head Start standards.

Qualifications include a CDA credential or progress toward a degree, experience with families and young children, strong communication and data‑entry skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel within MVAC’s service area.

Qualifications

• Home‑Based CDA credential or progress toward degree.
• Experience with home-based learning for children and families.
• Strong computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Valid driver’s license and travel within MVAC’s service area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and applications to support participation.
• Provide weekly home visits to families and children per standards.
• Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for school readiness.
• Create safe, nurturing, inclusive environments during Family School Time and home visits.
• Implement curriculum and complete ongoing child assessments.
• Partner with parents to support their role as educators.
• Build positive relationships with families.
• Develop collaborations with community agencies to support needs.
• Provide information on health, mental health, nutrition, and family well‑being.
• Assess family strengths and provide referrals to resources.
• Maintain documentation and data entry per program requirements.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
