Job summary

The Health Manager at EASTCONN East Killingly Head Start in Killingly, CT will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive health services for children and families in line with Head Start standards and state regulations.

The role oversees health records, medication administration, safety practices, staff training, data management, and quality improvement, collaborating with families, providers, and program leadership to ensure coordinated, preventive health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, Community Health, or related field required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in related areas including public health, school health, community health, or pediatrics.
• Experience working with Head Start or early childhood programs preferred.
• Experience with health compliance monitoring and electronic data systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate health services for enrolled children and families according to Head Start standards and state regulations.
• Maintain health records and ensure timely preventive health, oral health, mental health, and nutrition services.
• Coordinate with families and providers for referrals, evaluations, and care plans.
• Lead staff training on health regulations, CPR, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor health and safety compliance across sites and contribute to program quality improvement.
