Job summary

Midcoast Maine Community Action in Brunswick, ME is seeking a Family Advocate to work within Head Start and Early Head Start programs. You will partner with families to set goals, connect with resources, and support long-term stability for children and families.

This full-time role values compassion, organization, and strong communication. You will conduct family intakes, assessments, and progress reviews, and help families access health services and community supports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in social services or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Family Services Certification through NHSA preferred or ability to obtain as required.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting families, coordinating services, or working in a related human services role.
• Strong communication, organization, and case management skills.
• Knowledge of community resources, family systems, and child-related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with families and help them set personal, educational, and vocational goals.
• Conduct family intakes, assessments, and ongoing progress reviews.
• Connect families with community resources, health services, and other supports.
• Coordinate parent meetings, team meetings, and family engagement activities.
• Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and follow-up records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to strengthen support for children and families.
