Job summary

NORTH STAR ECEC within Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Family Service Worker to support families in the Early Childhood Education program. You will help families set goals, connect to resources, and participate in program activities that promote students’ achievement.

Key duties include home visits, referrals for education and services, and coordinating with Head Start and related programs. Starting date is immediate; some evening/weekend events may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Certificate in Family Development/Family Services or higher degree preferred.
• Experience working with families and in community outreach is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct family interviews to identify strengths and needs, and help create annual goals.
• Develop community resources and coordinate referrals for education, employment, housing, and financial literacy.
• Assist with family recruitment and enrollment for the program year.
• Organize and facilitate parent involvement and volunteer training sessions.
• Provide transportation or arrange transportation to appointments as needed.
• Perform monthly contacts with each family and conduct home visits.
• Support Head Start, VPI, and ECSE staff while complying with program standards.
