Job summary

Community Action of Orleans and Genesee is seeking Family Advocates to support recruitment, enrollment and attendance requirements, and provide case management and crisis intervention for families in our community program.

You will help families achieve goals, connect with resources, and actively involve parents to sustain engagement. NYS physical exam and reliable driving are required, and you must maintain appropriate insurance per policy.

Qualifications

• BS in Social Work or AAS in Health or Human Service.
• At least 1 year experience in Human Service.
• New York State physical examination required.
• Must own a vehicle to transport families and kept on site.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and insurance coverage as per agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, enrollment and attendance requirements of the program.
• Provide case management and crisis intervention for families.
• Support and sustain parent involvement within the program.

Job description

Family Advocates works closely with the Family/Community Partnership Manager in maintaining the recruitment, enrollment and attendance requirements of the program. In addition, they provide case management and crisis intervention for families, helping them achieve goals and connect with community resources. Advocates are also an integral part of sustaining parent involvement within the program.
Qualifications

• Preferable holds a BS in Social Work or AAS in Human Service or Health field
• One year experience in the field of Human Service
• New York State physical examination required
• Own a vehicle to transport families (4 people) and kept on site while working
• This position requires a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and acceptable insurance coverage limits per agency policies.
