Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education is required.
  • Advanced degree with equivalent coursework in early childhood education and early education teaching experience is required.
  • Associates degree in early childhood education or related field with 2 years of experience is required; must be willing to work towards a bachelor’s degree.
  • Active CDA with 3 years of Head Start experience; must be willing to work towards a bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; Preferred: Head Start experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general guidance and supervision to assigned staff in a designated supervision area.
  • Oversee day-to-day training and monitoring of Head Start classrooms.
  • Conduct regular supervision and meetings with staff; complete performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education
Advanced degree with equivalent coursework in early childhood education and early education teaching experience
Associates degree in early childhood education or related field with 2 years experience
Active CDA with 3 years of Head Start Experience

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides general guidance and supervision to assigned staff in a designated supervision area. The Head Start Education Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day training and monitoring of Head Start classrooms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
STAFF SUPERVISION 45%
  • Conduct regular supervision and meetings with staff.
  • Complete performance reviews for each staff member supervised.
  • Provide support and guidance to all assigned staff with their daily job responsibilities.
  • Conduct frequent monitoring tasks to provide input and feedback accordingly to staff, management, and leadership teams.
SITE SUPERVISION DUTIES
  • Ensure compliance with HSPPS and KDHE Licensing Regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education

OR

  • Advanced degree with equivalent coursework in early childhood education and early education teaching experience.

OR

  • Associates degree in early childhood education or other related field with 2 years of experience working in early childhood. Must be willing to work towards the completion of bachelor’s degree.

OR

  • Active CDA with 3 years of Head Start Experience. Must be willing to work towards the completion of bachelor’s degree.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience with Head Start
