Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) is seeking a Head Start Early Childhood Teacher for a full-time role in Cedar Rapids, IA. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:30 am–5:30 pm, with part-day/school-year hours.

Compensation ranges from $24.08 to $26.66 hourly, depending on education and experience. The teacher will plan and implement a nurturing Head Start curriculum, overseeing classroom operations, ensuring compliance with Head Start standards, and partnering with families to promote child

Qualifications

• Must hold a current State of Iowa Early Childhood Teacher License.
• Minimum qualification is an AA in Early Childhood Education.

Position Overview

Job Title: Head Start Early Childhood Teacher.

Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 11:30 am - 5:30 pm. Part Day/School Year.

Pay Range: $24.08 - $26.66 hourly depending on education and experience.

Position Goal

The Head Start Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a nurturing and supportive early childhood educational experience for participating children and families. The position oversees the daily implementation of all Head Start standards in the educational classroom operation.

Qualifications & Conditions Of Employment

Education and/or Experience

• Target Qualifications: Current State of Iowa Early Childhood Teacher License.
• Minimum Qualifications: AA in Early Childhood Education.

Conditions of Employment

• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid Car Insurance.
• Receive clearance by the Iowa Department of Human Services on child abuse and criminal checks prior to hire and resubmit every two (2) years.
• Pass a pre-employment health examination and subsequent health examinations every three (3) years thereafter.
• Receive clearance through National FBI fingerprint checks. Fingerprints must be submitted for national check prior to hire or start date at the center. Resubmit every four (4) years.
