Base pay range

$13.18/hr - $16.57/hr

Summary

The cook is responsible for the daily operations of the food service activities of the child care center to which they are assigned.

This is a fully benefited school year position and is 30 hours per week/40 weeks per year.

Anticipated start date August 30, 2021.

Duties
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for assigned centers.
  • Adhere to menus and adapt menus for special dietary requirements.
  • Order and store food and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Shop at grocery stores and pick up food from surplus delivery sites as needed.
  • Wash and care for dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness according to health and sanitation regulations.
  • Keep records of food purchases, supplies, and menu production.
Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma or GED, coursework or experience in food preparation, budgeting, and purchasing; 6 months to 2 years of food service experience; knowledge of cooking procedures; organizational skills; ability to work independently; record-keeping skills; physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds; reliable transportation with valid NH driver’s license and proof of insurance; ability to relate well to children and parents.
