Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Co-Teacher to provide an engaging, developmentally appropriate environment for children aged 0–5 within Head Start and Early Head Start programs. You will support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through varied activities and team collaboration.

Responsibilities include planning curriculum for double sessions, involving families, and ensuring health and safety standards while respecting diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• TB clearance within 6 months and annual influenza vaccination.
• Health screening at time of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move quickly.
• High School Diploma or GED with 24 CD units in ECE/CD.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate activities to support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Plan and implement the Head Start curriculum for morning and afternoon sessions.
• Collaborate with HS staff to involve and support families.
• Maintain classroom records and submit monthly paperwork.
• Create an inclusive learning environment reflecting diverse backgrounds.
