Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc. seeks an exempt early childhood educator to conduct developmentally appropriate instruction in a Head Start setting. You will ensure safety, implement engaging lesson plans, and collaborate with families to support children’s school readiness.

The role requires adherence to HS/COA/NAEYC standards, DCF licensing, and VPK requirements, with responsibilities including health checks, training, and documentation in compliance with program policies.

Qualifications

• DCF 45 hours: 30 Intro, 10 Special Needs, 5 Literacy hours
• Bachelor/Associate degree in child development or ECE with 18 ECE credits
• Supervisory teaching experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, health, and well‑being of each child while following HS/COA/NAEYC guidelines.
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with funding source requirements.
• Foster family partnerships and prepare children for kindergarten transitions.
• Conduct health and safety checklists and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and evaluate Teacher Aide and volunteers; participate in evaluations.
• Maintain documentation, training records, and required reporting.
