Job summary

MAAC Head Start is seeking a part-time Early Learning Assistant at the Vista, CA campus. Under supervision, you’ll help plan and run activities for children ages 0-5, assist with curriculum, and support family engagement programs.

This 46-week role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and collaboration with staff and parents. Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and 12 ECE/Child Development units, with a CDA or permit preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 12 college units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or CDA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing the education program.
• Support daily classroom activities and lesson planning.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and volunteers and support home visits as needed.
• Assist in maintaining attendance, meal counts, and classroom records.
