Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency invites applications for a Temp. Full Time Head Start helper at the R E Campus S07 location in Bridgeton, NJ. The position supports the classroom teacher to meet Head Start standards and licensing regulations.

The role requires CDA enrollment or credential, a High School diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. Applicants should be able to assist with documentation and parent involvement activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a CDA or enroll immediately in CDA program or enroll in early childhood coursework leading to an associate or bachelor degree.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a car available on a daily basis.
• Must be able to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head or Group Teacher in planning and implementing educational activities in the classroom and interact with children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Assist the Teacher in observing, screening, assessing, and documenting children's growth and development.
• Assist in carrying out administrative duties as delegated by the teacher.
• Assume Teacher responsibilities in the absence of the Teacher.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate records or reports, including daily attendance and in-kind records.
• Participate in weekly Center staff meetings and training/workshops.
• Encourage and coordinate parent and volunteer involvement, attend Home Visits and Parent/Teacher conferences as requested.
• Any other Head Start task as delegated by Teacher or management
