Job summary

Action Pact Inc. is recruiting a full-time Head Start Teacher Assistant in Waycross, GA, to create a safe, nurturing learning environment. You will assist the assigned teacher with classroom duties, parent communication, and program requirements.

Minimum CDA/TCC required; Georgia driver’s license preferred. Competitive benefits include PTO, holidays, low-cost health insurance, and life/disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent and a preschool CDA/TCC is required.
• Other: Valid Georgia Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily head count and complete daily attendance records and meal count.
• Follow an approved curriculum and daily schedule, and assist in development and implementation of daily lesson plans.
• Monitor, document and follow the policy for reporting suspected child abuse.
• Observe, assess and record the behavior of assigned children with ongoing assessments in folders.
• Assist in developing individualized education plans for children with identified needs.
• Assist in home visits and coordinating with families and volunteers.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
