CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services in Chester County is seeking a Head Start Child Development Assistant to support the classroom, implement lessons, and assist the lead teacher in daily activities at Gordon Early Learning Center, Coatesville, PA.

This 190-day center-based role offers 7.5 paid hours per day with options for part-time or half-day schedules and includes benefits such as 10 paid sick days and summer break. A CDA pathway is encouraged.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or expected.
• Willingness to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) (10 credits) in 2 years.
• Previous experience in childcare setting is preferred.

SUMMARY:

The Head Start Child Development Assistant will work on assignment with the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) in the Head Start program to provide direct support in the classroom environment, implements lessons, and activities as directed by the lead teacher.

• Available Center-based Locations:
  • Gordon Early Learning Center, Coatesville, PA (8am - 3:30pm)
• Schedule: 190 day position following school calendar year
  • 7.5 paid hours per day, will consider part time of 2-3 full days OR half day morning or afternoon schedule

• 10 paid sick days for those working full schedule (prorated based on hire date)
• The hourly pay-rate is $26.21 per hour

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalency and willingness to obtain a child development associate (10 credits) in 2 years
• Previous experience in childcare setting with the demonstrated ability to relate well to children - preferred

CREDENTIALS:

• PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
• PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
• PA Department of Human Services FBI – Use code 1KG738
• TB Screening (current within 3 months)
• Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts

POST-OFFER REQUIREMENT:

• Candidates selected for this position will be required to complete job-related Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET) following a conditional offer of employment. The assessment evaluates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
