Job summary

EightCAP, Inc. seeks a Center Assistant to support Head Start/ Early Head Start programs in Michigan. You will help create a safe, engaging environment for children, assist with meals, and support daily activities while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, and ability to collaborate with families and staff. Local travel may be required; position is hourly, non-exempt, 30–32 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with early childhood programs and food service preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Must understand mandated reporting requirements and state procedures.
• Must complete state and federal background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, positive environment for children and families.
• Shop for groceries and supplies; assist with meals and cleaning.
• Interact with children and families during daily activities.
• Follow Head Start/LARA/CACFP regulations and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and report suspected abuse or neglect.
