Description

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as counselor, educator, and role model to foster student athletes' physical, intellectual, and social development.
  2. Engage in campus-wide activities and Student Affairs organization.
  3. Collaborate with other coaches and colleagues across the university.
  4. Maximize the softball team's talent through quality coaching and teamwork promotion.
  5. Follow NCAA Division III, Midwest Conference, and Carroll University policies and guidelines.
  6. Display professional decorum and serve as a positive ambassador of Carroll University.
  7. Plan, organize, and administer in-season practice sessions for softball.
  8. Recruit student athletes and collaborate with the Office of Admission to increase enrollment.
  9. Retain student athletes at Carroll University and within the softball program.
  10. Hire, manage, and evaluate assistant coaches.
  11. Maintain and update equipment inventories.
  12. Assist with management and maintenance of game and practice facilities.
  13. Develop practice and competition schedules.
  14. Maintain a positive presence on campus and in the local community.
  15. Teach skills and strategies to improve student athlete understanding of softball.
Secondary Assignment: Ganfield Building Coordinator
  1. Perform small maintenance jobs as needed.
  2. Coordinate with custodial manager for cleanliness of Ganfield.
  3. Serve as Emergency Building Coordinator for Ganfield Gymnasium.
  4. Input work orders through the 'School Dude' system.
  5. Conduct daily walkthroughs of Ganfield Gymnasium.
Strength and Conditioning Responsibilities
  1. Implement safety standards and guidelines for strength and conditioning practices.
  2. Ensure compliance with NCAA strength and conditioning regulations.
  3. Assist with facility and equipment setup, inspection, and maintenance.
  4. Implement emergency plans in the weight room as needed.
  5. Collaborate with Human Performance coaches.
  6. Supervise the weight room as a monitor.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Progressive coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level required.
  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Current valid Strength and Conditioning certification.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
Interpersonal Skills

Compliance
