Job Title: Head Softball Coach and Facilities Coordinator

Department: Athletics

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Effective Date: Sep 15th, 2026

Salary: $50,000.00

Job Summary:

  • Serve as the Head Softball Coach and Facilities Coordinator for all athletic facilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Organization, development and administration of all phases of the softball program.
  • Establishes overall goals for the softball program, organizes practice and is responsible for game management.
  • Provides effective supervision of softball student athletes in practice, competition and life management. Ensures ongoing eligibility of athletes; monitors academic progress and demonstrates a sincere concern for the welfare of student athletes.
  • Plan and implement off-season and pre-season workouts. Responsible for teaching skills to student athletes and providing them with opportunities for specific knowledge.
  • Develops and implements a safe and effective training and competitive environment for student athletes.
  • Recruits academically qualified players utilizing current methods, e.g. telephone, mail, game visibility, etc.
  • Attends and participates in admissions recruiting events. Works effectively with the Admissions Office staff to ensure a consistent, effective recruitment effort.
  • Serves as a role model to athletes by conducting oneself on and off the court in an ethical, appropriate, professional manner and displaying values that reflect the mission and goals of the College.
  • Works with the Athletic Director, Director of Public Safety, Facilities Manager, Residence Life Director, etc. to ensure proper oversight of student athletes living on campus.
  • Adheres to/Ensures compliance with NCAA, ECAC, NECC rules, regulations, policies, procedures and Title IX.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as athletic facilities coordinator.
  • Implement policies and procedures for facilities and their Coordinate scheduling of the facilities with internal and external usage.
  • Prepare and manage annual budget.
  • Recruit, supervise, schedule, and manage student payroll for Maguire desk workers.
  • Serve as a liaison to the entire campus community and committees.
  • Responsible for maintenance contracts and Board of Health permits for the facilities.
  • Responsible for overall aspects of the softball program.
  • Recruits and attends Admissions events.
  • Serves as a role model for student athletes.
  • Compiles with all campus, Department, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations other duties as may be assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Proven ability to relate to STUDENT-athletes, academic community, student body, off-campus constl1uents, professional colleagues, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of personnel management, budgeting, and facilities management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with social media and software applications.
  • Highly effective recruiting strategies and skills along with proven administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use software and standard office equipment.
  • Certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Background in athletics and recreation highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use of general office equipment in an office setting.
  • Requires an equal amount of standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing multiple levels of stairs, light lifting, near vision, and manual dexterity to perform essential job functions.
  • Requires ability to travel between buildings with exposure to inclement weather conditions.
