A leading healthcare system in New York is seeking a Physician to lead the Head and Neck Medical Oncology section and co-direct the Cancer Center of Excellence. This role involves oversight of patient care, clinical research, and education programs. The ideal candidate will have a Medical Degree, relevant board certification, and strong communication skills.
The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in collaboration with the Tisch Cancer Institute and Head and Neck Cancer Institute, are seeking a Physician to lead the section of Head and Neck Medical Oncology and Co-Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center of Excellence for the Mount Sinai Health System.
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is an integrated healthcare system providing exceptional medical care to local and global communities. Encompassing the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and eight hospital campuses in the New York metropolitan area, as well as a large regional ambulatory footprint, Mount Sinai is internationally acclaimed for its excellence in research, patient care, and education across a range of specialties. The new Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Hospital, expected to open in 2027, will provide state-of-the-art facilities for providing outstanding cancer care.
The Tisch Cancer Institute is a P30-funded NCI-designated cancer center, currently ranking 10th nationally in federal funding and 12th nationwide in cancer care by U.S. News and World Report. The Head and Neck Cancer Institute is co-led by Dr. Eric Genden, MD, a renowned surgical oncologist, and Dr. Richard Baskt, MD, a radiation oncologist and physician-scientist.
The applicant will have responsibilities for oversight of patient care, clinical research, training, and education programs involving head and neck cancer in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology. The applicant is expected to become a member of the Cancer Clinical Investigations (CCI) program, one of four research programs at the Tisch Cancer Institute, and co-lead the Head & Neck Disease Focus Group (DFG), a multidisciplinary committee overseeing clinical research in head and neck cancer.
Compensation range: $375K - $450K (excluding bonuses, incentives, or benefits).
