Job summary

Archbishop Moeller High School seeks an energetic, mission-driven leader to serve as the Head Rugby Coach. This seasonal stipend position oversees a comprehensive rugby program, developing student-athletes’ athletic and character growth and representing the school with excellence and sportsmanship on and off the field.

The role reports to the Athletic Director and includes planning practices, recruiting players, supervising staff, coordinating travel and events, and ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Three or more years of coaching experience at high school, club, or equivalent.
• Head coaching experience preferred.
• Prior rugby playing experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop student-athletes in skill, leadership, discipline, teamwork, and character formation.
• Knowledge of rugby rules and player safety standards; ability to teach rugby fundamentals and tactics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a comprehensive rugby program across varsity and sub-varsity levels.
• Plan, conduct practices, and develop rugby skills, fitness, and game strategy.
• Recruit and retain student-athletes while promoting program growth.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches and volunteer staff.
• Coordinate team scheduling, travel arrangements, equipment management, and game-day operations.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic department.
• Manage program budget and assist with fundraising as needed.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety protocols.
