Role Description

The Head Program Management Office (PMO) is a full-time, hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, with flexibility for some work from home. This role leads the PMO function, establishing governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for program and project delivery across Cubic Transportation Systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the project portfolio, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. The Head PMO collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations and enabling transparent reporting on program performance, risks, and benefits. The role also focuses on developing PMO processes and tools, mentoring project and program managers, and driving continuous improvement in planning, execution, and analytical decision-making.

• Strong Project Portfolio Management capabilities to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and balance risk, value, and dependencies.


• Excellent Communication skills for clear, concise reporting, executive presentations, and cross-functional collaboration.


• Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret data, assess performance, identify trends, and support evidence-based decisions.

• Proven leadership experience in a PMO or similar role within technology, transportation, or complex systems environments.


• Demonstrated ability to implement and improve methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile/Hybrid frameworks) and PM tools.


• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP) is preferred.
