Job summary

The Alliance for Decision Education seeks a Head of Technology to provide strategic oversight and hands-on management of the technology ecosystem, ensuring a cohesive, secure environment for growing K-12 school partnerships.

This Director-level role reports to the Director of Operations within the Operations department and currently has no direct reports. The position is based in Bala Cynwyd, PA, with a hybrid schedule and local Philadelphia-region eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive leadership experience overseeing K-12 education technology.
• Familiarity with tools commonly used in K-12 settings (Clever or similar platforms a strong plus).
• Working knowledge of K-12 data sharing laws and compliance frameworks (FERPA, COPPA, state privacy regulations).
• Hands-on skills across desktop support, cybersecurity, and systems analysis.

Responsibilities

• Create an organization-wide plan for how our technology should work together, including data collection.
• Own technology budget and purchasing decisions with ROI assessment.
• Define organization-wide standards, rules, and governance over data.
• Build and maintain a risk register with cybersecurity and reputational monitoring; lead incident response.
